Unique Symmetrical Polyhedron
This project required students to create a unique symmetrical polyhedron using the following criteria:
• The final form should be unique, elegant, and well designed. Craft should be precise, clean, and accurate Edges and faces may be flat or curved; convex or concave.
• Scale of final model will be approximately 8”+/- per side; Media will be Bristol paper.
• Final presentation of the form may be:
– Free standing
– Suspended,
– Mounted to a flat surface.
– Polyhedron must embody a form of symmetry; student must be able to name the symmetry, and symmetry must be evident in the final form.
– A space-efficient flat pattern will be developed to enable construction of final model.
– Final polyhedron should be constructed using a single piece of paper.
