Letterform Design

Starting with the majuscule ‘S’, students were required to draw/paint a serif or slab-serif letter form of their liking. Using their finished letterform’s ‘DNA’ (stroke weights, size, serif form, etc.) they were then required to develop and design a majuscule ‘W’ (full-square vs. half square), minuscule ‘g’ and ‘f’ (an ascender & descender) and then the numerals ‘2’ and ‘9’ as either Lining or Old Style forms.
