Chatfield College Logo

Commissioned in 2016 to design a new logo for Chatfield College, a local Liberal Arts College. The original campus is located in rural Brown County, in St. Martin, OH, and a new inner-city campus was inaugurated in 2016. To promote the new campus located on Central Parkway in Cincinnati’s Over The Rhine neighborhood (OTR), a new logo was requested to promote the new campus and update the look and feel of the original logo.

Using the motif of a shield to convey strength and confidence, the Fleur des Lis is representational of the order of Ursuline Sisters and a cross to represent the Catholic faith. Started in 1845, Sister Julia Chatfield, founded the Ursuline convent in St. Martin, Ohio. In 1958, the Sisters founded the Ursuline Teacher Training Institute to provide a quality liberal arts education to women joining the Ursuline Order. In 1971, the public was admitted and the school was renamed Chatfield College.
